Well SENZ 2012 is over and it was great! I was concerned about Miss K taking part in the classes that are mainly for adults, but she handled it really well. Any work we didn't finish, we simply completed at the motel. Lots of lovely product on sale and my credit card is still in recovery mode! Some fantastic stalls and work on display, very inspiring and it has certainly motivated me to get into gear!
As well as SENZ, ou school holiday classes that were sponsored by Creative Communities have come to an end, and we are now at the stage of framing and mounting work for display at the Taranaki Art Awards in Oct. A wonderful, positive outcome from the holiday classes has been the spin off of the FART classes! Future Artists from the Region of Taranaki! Every Fri 3.30-4.30 $2 per child. The response has been great so far, we have produced balloon and bunting cards, and a scrapbook page! The kids are lovely to work with and it has been good for Miss K too! She has been a great help and enjoys working with them.
Happy scrapping everyone!

GREAT TIME!
Miss K and I have had the best time so far at SENZ 2012, and there is still 1 more day and 2 classes to go! We have had fantastic classes with Trina McClune and have seen some great techniques with the Tim Holtz products. The stands of products and Make and Take are wonderful, lots of inspiration and ideas to take away! I was really impressed with Nic Howards stand and will certainly revisit it tomorrow between classes, she has some great trinkets for pages and cards, as well as kits to go. I also really liked the products in Artfull Crafts and Scrapaholics! Hmmm....might revisit them tomorrow too....I am delighted to see flyers for Scrapfest 2013 and also Creative Adventure Downunder, me thinks I might have some plans already for my diary for next year! So if you are keen, Miss K and I are going to SENZ 2013 in Manukau in July next year and I am very keen to go to http://www.creativeadventure.co.nz/ and Scrapfest By the Sea; mailto:bl.jordan@xtra.co.nz.......%20checkcheck out these on Facebook and the Web!

CREATIVE KIDS ON THE COAST!
It has been great during the past 2 days, we have only completed 2 of our kids holiday classes, but we have been so impressed with all of the children that have taken part! The kids have been really enthusiastic and are inspiring to watch and listen to! We have had paper mosaics and painting on a canvas. The work produced has been to a very high standard and it looks great! It will be a privilege to see it on display at the Taranaki Art Awards in October. Cupcake decorating and cupcake card making is on the list for tomorrows class, we are looking forward to working alongside Coastal Cupcakes. Check out our Facebook page for photos and updates!

GOOD NEWS!
Don't you love it when you get good news that you can share! Two pieces of exciting news today; Miss K and I now have in our hot little hands our tickets for SENZ 2012 in Hamilton in July! Lucky for us they fall in the last weekend of the school holidays! The second piece of good news is one that is going to be of great benefit for the Coastal Kids! Today Crafty Chics on the Coast received word that they have funding to run 6 lots of FREE Art classes for the Coastal kids during the July school holidays! The work that the children produce will then be mounted and professionally displayed at the Taranaki Art Review in October! After the display is finished the work will be retuned to the artist. Very exciting! Keep an eye out on future bolgs and on FACEBOOK for more information regarding how children can get into classes! Thanks so much to the Creative Communities Grant from South Taranaki District Council! Awesome support!

WAHOO!
Ok, so school's back, tidying up after the kids craft classes is STILL happening!! We had lots of fun, making canvas and cards for Mothers Day and then creating our Mood/Inspiration Boards! Lots of great work produced by some awesome kids! Keep an eye out for the next classes in the next lot of holidays, as we are going to be producing work that is to be displayed in the Taranaki Art Review later on in the year! Very exciting! Another great thing about today (and it's only 10.30am!) is that I have just purchased 2x 3 day passes for Miss K and myself! We can't wait! The fact that it falls in the last weekend of the next school holidays is a bonus! Also I have just about completed the wooden word COASTAL, it looks great! Look out for flyers around town and on facebook. Speaking of facebook, have you checked out our page? We have got more phtotos to upload soon. There are only so many hours in the day, but it still feels as though it is not enough time to do everything that I want!! Never mind, I am definitely going to make some time to work with some new supplies from "Jackie's for Scrapbooking" in Inglewood, I picked up some awesome Graphic 45 card stock the other day, it looks great! Happy scrapping and creating!

CREATIVITY - IT'S EVERYDAY IN EVERYWAY!
I am writing this while on duty at our local pool, don't panic, I'm not a lifeguard, just overseeing the office! Straight to the point, enough of this waffle, if you're reading this you may be short of time and I have a very important message to tell you! It's this....STOP IT, STOP IT right now! Stop beating yourself up about not having enough time recently to scrap all those photos, stop beating yourself up for buying that birthday card recently, just stop it! Yes, sometimes daily life gets in the way of our creative urges and during the past 8 weeks, with 2 storms, several meetings and other booked committments, creativity has simply been put on the back burner, in the back room, way down the corridor of life in the back of the house. Recently after several vicious eposides of berating myself for not having time or energy to do something creative, and that despite not being seen to be in a creative form, ie; sitting somewhere scrapping, that creativity takes many forms everyday - simple stuff, like choosing what to wear, adding a brooch or scarf, leaving notes for your kids with doodles on, cooking a meal for the family, when you sort and clean a room and set it out the way you want.
So, creativity can be in the little things, you may not have time to scrap those recent photos from the Mum/daughter weekend away, but you can choose a funky brooch to wear so that each time you look at it, you get a warm creative fuzzy!
Happy creativity!
